Greed is creeping into our society – Gertrude Torkornoo

Chief Justice, Gertrude Torkornoo has expressed frustration over the increasing level of wealth-grabbing creeping into the Ghanaian society, especially in the business community.

According to the Chief Justice, the insatiable desire for wealth and property has inspired greed among society.

“I don’t understand the level of cravings and the level of monies that people need. The figures are too high and too weird.

“Those close to me, are they buying islands or something. What are they doing? What do they need all of this for?" she asked.

She made these comments at the Full Gospel Business Men Fellowship conference dubbed ‘Integrity of a business person.'

The Chief Justice said although it was difficult to walk in integrity, it is possible if individuals would be committed to Christian principles.

Also President of the Full Gospel Business Men Fellowship, Emmanuel Mahama bemoaned the impact of corruption on economies and called on stakeholders to collaborate to help fight the canker
